[starttext]Tuesday, April 12, 2011 -- Governor Malloy delivered remarks this morning at a commemoration ceremony to mark the 150th Anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War. The bloody, four-year war opened with Confederate artillery firing on Fort Sumter in South Carolina on April 12, 1861. More than 40 infantry re-enactors took part in Tuesday's ceremony, with Governor Malloy ordering the firing of 10 cannon on the lawn of the State Capitol in Hartford.[endtext]
